Job Description:
As a Nursing Instructor at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical and non-clinical educational programs for HSC Operational Components. You will ensure adherence to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.

Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure patient safety by following policies, procedures, and protocols
* Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
* Develop instructional programs, in collaboration with others, based on identified learning needs
* Implement or coordinate the implementation of educational curricula utilizing adult learning principles
* Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make revisions as needed
* Maintain current knowledge and competency in field of expertise and professional development practice
* Serve as a role model and mentor for nursing staff
* Participate in quality improvement processes and contribute to the development of peers, staff, students, colleagues, and others

* Bachelor's Degree
* Master's Degree

* Related Discipline or MSN w/in 36 Months of Assignment

Experience:
Essential:
3 years directly related experience

Nonessential:
Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo

Credentials:
Essential:
* CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
* RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM

Physical Conditions:
Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
