Job Summary

CPS, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to lead our food safety and quality initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety in our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Lead a team of quality professionals to ensure effective quality execution, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to drive positive change through influence and example.
  • Quality Systems and Processes
    • Develop and maintain facility systems and processes to ensure finished product quality and regulatory compliance.
    • Function as a highly organized and effective communicator with an inquisitive mind to investigate and lead solution-based decision making.
  • Audit Readiness and Compliance
    • Maintain audit readiness and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Escalate non-conformance events to the quality director and plant manager in a timely fashion.
  • Investigations and Root Cause Analysis
    • Collaboratively lead investigations relating to non-conforming events to drive to root cause(s) and effective resolution.
    • Manage hold and release programs.
  • Employee Development and Training
    • Foster a positive and effective work culture with direct reports.
    • Identify and retain highly effective personnel through proper selection, training, and expectations.
  • Quality Leadership and Communication
    • Provide quality leadership during unplanned events or emergencies.
    • Engage and interact with all personnel on a regular basis to assist with their challenges and questions concerning food safety.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Customer Expectations
    • Collaborate with R&D during new/reformulated product introduction to ensure compliance with established specifications and regulatory requirements.
    • Manage plant complaint investigations to ensure a thorough, effective, timely, and customer-facing response.
  • Quality Management and Laboratory Practices
    • Maintain the quality management system and ensure documents are up to date and comply with food safety and quality policies and standards.
    • Oversee the development of laboratory practices to ensure accurate and precise quality control (QC) results.
  • Environmental Monitoring and Sanitation
    • Ensure the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) is robust and risk-based with a search and destroy mentality applied.
    • Oversee plant sanitation to drive a robust sanitation program.
  • Technical Qualifications
    • Undergraduate degree in food science, biological sciences, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
    • 5 to 8 years of quality assurance or related experience in a food, beverage, or similar facility.
    • Certification and/or License – PCQI, HACCP, SQF Practitioner certifications preferred.
  • Key Skills and Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of laboratory and plant current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs).
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize resources to achieve goals.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, for a diverse range of internal and external audiences.
