About the Role: As a Process Automation Specialist at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our advanced process controls and monitoring systems operate at optimal performance. Your expertise will be vital in the design, development, implementation, and enhancement of our sophisticated biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement software and hardware enhancements for existing and new automated systems, adhering to change control protocols.
- Utilize PLCs and HMIs to deliver technical support and solutions to Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Facilities in accordance with established SOPs.
- Conduct troubleshooting and investigations related to manufacturing deviations and anomalies linked to automation systems and control software.
- Create and revise engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans for cGMP process equipment, following GAMP 5 guidelines.
- Support small-scale manufacturing, engineering, and validation projects.
- Assist in the software design, commissioning, testing, and corrective actions for process control and monitoring equipment.
- Author or update system specifications and user requirements, while generating and executing essential Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) protocols.

Qualifications: To be considered for the Process Automation Specialist role, a BS in Engineering or a related field is preferred, along with the following minimum experience:
- Process Automation Specialist: BS with 2+ years
- Senior Process Automation Specialist: BS with 5+ years
- Principal Process Automation Specialist: BS with 8+ years
Equivalent experience with process control systems or data acquisition systems may be accepted in lieu of a degree. The level of the position will be determined based on qualifications relevant to the role.
We seek candidates with experience in designing and maintaining process control systems or data acquisition systems. Familiarity with programming and troubleshooting PLCs is advantageous. Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
We utilize Allen-Bradley and Siemens control system products; specific knowledge of these products is highly desirable.
