We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Operations to lead our maintenance, utilities, and inventory management functions at our New Berlin, NY site. Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and direction to our technical services organization, including employees in direct and indirect functions.
- Capital Planning and Project Management: Direct all capital plan engineering design and project work to ensure timely completion, working with vendors and stakeholders.
- Financial Management: Plan and develop annual and long-term capital project budgets, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Operational Excellence: Support the plant's key performance initiatives, ensuring timely and effective interactions with R&D, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Product Supply organizations.
- Manufacturing Optimization: Ensure efficiency in manufacturing products at the highest perceived value for our customers, with respect to product quality and timely delivery.
- Safety and Compliance: Craft a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and leading employee safety initiatives.
- Lean Manufacturing: Accelerate Lean manufacturing practices within the technical services operation, optimizing the organizational structure to meet objectives.
- Quality and Performance: Set and maintain quality measures, preventive maintenance schedules, and performance standards, leading to improved productivity and efficiency.
- Representation and Partnerships: Represent Chobani and our facility in partnership with state and local officials, as well as dairy community leaders.
- Industry Experience: Minimum 10+ years of proven experience in plant manufacturing and maintenance, with a deep understanding of dairy or food industry manufacturing processes.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum 3 years of senior management level experience owning the technical services organization, providing leadership in plant maintenance, automation, and utilities functions.
- Education and Certifications: BS/BA or equivalent experience in Industrial Engineering, Dairy Management, Food Science, Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of MRP and ERP Systems, working knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and related compliance regulations, and complete understanding of PLC and logic controls for high-speed operating equipment.
- Soft Skills: Analytical problem-solving skills, ability to drill to root cause and arrive at rational solutions, and applied knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
