Senior Design Manager for Hospitality Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Architectural Design to join our team at Palisociety. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of interior design and architectural concepts for our hospitality projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of design project managers in the production of design documentation and specifications for hospitality projects.
- Oversee the design and sourcing of interior finishes and materials for our projects.
- Create detailed construction documentation, schedules, and specifications for interior design projects.
- Coordinate with consultants and contractors to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
- Manage design workflows and deliverable schedules to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
- Assist with the creation of presentation materials and design concept boards.
- Review and approve design documents issued by architects, engineers, and other vendors.
- Provide construction administration services for active projects, including site visits.
- Hire and manage additional design staff and project managers as needed.
- Mentor design project managers and oversee quality control of work output.
- Liaise with fellow design team directors and members to ensure coordination and preparation of designs at a high accuracy level.
- Work with operations department heads to ensure design functions operate efficiently and align with departmental sales and marketing strategies.
- Track quality assurance of design and project execution to meet quality objectives, project constraints, and company brand standards.
- Oversee final punch list and final turnover program.
- Assist with analysis of projected design team time needed, scopes of work, and deliverable schedules on new projects.
- 8+ years of experience in interior design and architecture, with a proven track record of leading and managing multiple projects.
- Experience with the entire project lifecycle, from concepting through occupancy and operations.
- Proven fiscal budgeting, accountability, and responsibility.
- Excellent written, verbal, and management communication skills, including leadership, organization, and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other coworkers, departments, and business units with an engaged and innovative spirit.
- Ability to manage challenging situations, tasks, and timelines with tact, grace, and style while bringing new concepts and ideas to the team.
- Strong AutoCAD, MS Office, and Adobe Creative Suite experience.
- Ability to travel for project-related purposes and work onsite during ongoing projects as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time up to four (4) hours.
