At Holder Construction, we are seeking a highly skilled BIM/VDC Assistant Manager to join our team in Ft. Wayne, IN. This role will be responsible for facilitating problem-solving using technology and collaboration with project teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Problem-Solving and Collaboration: Facilitate problem-solving using technology and collaboration with project teams, both internal and external.
  • Workload Coordination: Coordinate the workload of yourself and others for one or more projects with VDC Manager(s).
  • Modeling Efforts: Ensure modeling efforts and deliverables are completed to solve construction issues.
  • VDC Coordination Schedule: Understand and contribute to the VDC coordination schedule by tracking the responsibilities of all relevant stakeholders.
  • Clash Detection: Ensure that the team is identifying and resolving coordination conflicts using clash detection in Navisworks.
  • Leadership: Lead clash resolution and coordination meetings, seeing all items through to completion.
  • Modeling Best Practices: Use modeling best practices and company standards to produce accurate models.
  • Quality Reviews: Conduct quality reviews of modeled scope from others and confirm compliance with the contract documents.
  • Training and Development: Ensure that the team is applying concepts from training sessions and lessons learned to facilitate project coordination.
  • Delivering VDC Services: Ensure that VDC services are delivered in accordance with our standards and best practices.
  • Team Development: Train and develop the professional skills of fellow team members.

Requirements for this position include:

  • BIM/VDC Experience: 3-5 years of BIM/VDC experience working on commercial construction projects.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Computer Graphics, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Relocation and Travel: Willingness to relocate and travel.
  • Professional Skills: Willingness to learn, grow, and further develop relevant professional skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to help teammates learn, grow and develop their professional skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with 3D modeling and coordination tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, & Navisworks.
  • Collaboration and Independence: Ability to work in a collaborative environment as well as independently.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and others as applicable.
  • Construction Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Construction Management Process: Strong working knowledge of the construction management process (RFIs, Submittals, Shop Drawings).
