Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Vascular Surgery team at Galen Medical Group. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our medical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with providers to determine patient needs and assist with providing quality medical care.
  • Interview patients, measure vital signs, and collect data accurately.
  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms, ensuring instruments are clean and sterilized.
  • Assist with surgical procedures, including prepping and assisting the provider.
  • Communicate with medical facilities and departments to schedule testing and procedures.
  • Handle pre-certification for admissions and procedures, or coordinate with the pre-certification coordinator.
  • Return patient calls and place prescription refill calls under the direction of the provider.
  • Perform EKGs, venipuncture, and in-house laboratory procedures.
  • Act as a phlebotomist as needed, following standard procedures.
  • Complete requisitions for laboratory processing and charge billing.
  • Recognize abnormal results upon review of lab and test results.
  • Interact with providers regarding patient education and follow-up on results.
  • Assist with health education on the patient's level of understanding.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with Galen clinical policies and OSHA standards.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a licensed practical nurse program from a nationally accredited institution.
  • Active LPN license in the State of Tennessee or any other participating compact.
  • Previous clinical and phlebotomy experience.
  • Vascular experience preferred.
  • BLS training and certification.
  • Ability to document in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner.
