Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to advance our mission and goals.
  • Lead fundraising efforts to secure resources for our programs and operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including our Board of Directors, staff, and partners.
  • Oversee the administration and organizational finances of the Observatory.
  • Supervise staff and ensure the success of our pillar projects and future initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in ecology, wildlife biology, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience in an environmentally focused organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and guide the implementation of mission-centric research projects.
  • Strong financial skills, including budget development and management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three or more years of leadership experience with a scientific organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to use best available science to inform decision-making and/or program development.
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors and organizational leadership.

This is a full-time exempt position with a salary range of $68,500 - $72,000 annually. The Observatory offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 20 paid days off and 10 paid holidays.
