Supervisory Attorney-Advisor

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Supervisory Attorney-Advisor to join our team at the Office of the Judge Advocate General (OJAG), Naval Civil Law Support Activity, Administrative Law Division (Code 13).
The successful candidate will provide advice and support to the Judge Advocate General of the Navy and other senior military and civilian leaders within the Department of the Navy (DON).
Key areas of practice include military personnel law, government ethics and standards of conduct, professional responsibility, fiscal law, legislation and regulations review, disability law, administration of the Federal Register Program, Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act, military rights and benefits, including claims for redress, and military affairs and command authorities.
Responsibilities- Provide expert advice and guidance to senior leaders on complex legal issues.
- Supervise and manage a team of attorneys and support staff.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to administrative law.
- Represent OJAG at established and ad hoc meetings, working groups, and committees.
- Collaborate with other DoD entities and non-DoD agencies to advance the interests of the DON.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must possess a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
- Must be a member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of a State or a Territory within the United States or the District of Columbia.
- Must have demonstrated exceptional proficiency in advising senior leaders on practice areas such as personnel law, military personnel law, ethics, standards of conduct, professional responsibility, fiscal law, legislation and regulation reviews, disability law, administration of the Federal Register Program, Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act, claims for redress, military affairs, and/or homeland security.
