Clinical Coding Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Coding Associate to join our team at MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a key member of our Revenue Operations & Coding department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our coding processes.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the institution's Coding Apprentice Program and complete all learning modules with passing grades.
- Perform entry-level coding on less complex accounts and multi-specialty encounters after training in each specialty area.
- Review and assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes to professional services, following all coding rules and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and management, demonstrating good interpersonal and professional skills.
- Meet department accuracy and production standards, and report backlogs and high work-in-progress balances to management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or related healthcare field preferred.
- No experience required, but up to two years of healthcare-related experience and ICD-10 certification are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as excellent computer technical skills.
This is a hybrid onsite/remote position that requires working onsite a few days per week. The training schedule is approximately 6 months onsite, with a hybrid schedule after completion.
