Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technician

Responsibilities:

As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for assessing and recognizing patients' emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive, and psychosocial conditions. You will also:

  • Use multidisciplinary, team-oriented actions
  • Assess and recognize patients' emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive, and psychosocial conditions
  • Prepare rooms for examination
  • Check physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures
  • Greets and acknowledges patients, using two forms of ID
  • Obtains patient history
  • Handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes, or other devices, and monitors patients during imaging
  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency drugs and equipment
  • Uses proper body mechanics when assisting patients
  • Provides assistance to providers while administering contrast media
  • Processes patient information, displays proper phone etiquette, and transports patients as needed
Requirements:
  • Associate Degree in Applied Science required or completion of an accredited program in radiologic or cardiovascular technology required or high school diploma or equivalent with two years' work experience in invasive cardiology required
  • One year vascular or cardiac angiography experience preferred
  • Two years' experience with high school diploma required
Licensure and Certifications:
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire required and GMRT-General Medical Radiologic Technologist if ARRT only upon hire preferred or RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (Obtain within 6 months if graduate from Cardiovascular Accredited Program) upon hire required and LMRT - Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist if RCIS Only upon hire preferred or RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (For Electrophysiology Labs (EP) only) upon hire required and BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly) required and ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required
