Your Role as a Laser Technician
As a Laser Technician at Areté, you will play a crucial role in the assembly of AIRTRAC lasers, which involves constructing optical assemblies.
This position requires expertise in handling optics and applying various epoxies to mount these components while collaborating with a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to design, develop, test, and manufacture lasers.

Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Fine-tuning and aligning optical components and lasers.
  • Building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying both developmental and production electronic and optical systems, either independently or under the guidance of an electrical or optical engineer.
  • Setting up and utilizing complex optical equipment independently or with oversight from an optical engineer.
  • Conducting optical measurements and tests to support laser alignment, fabrication, and performance assessments.

This role is based in our Niwot, CO office and is classified as a non-exempt, non-supervisory, full-time position.

Qualifications
We seek candidates who possess:

  • Familiarity with electronic and optical testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power meters, optical sensors, spectrometers, cameras, lasers, and detectors.
  • Ability to produce professional documentation and meticulously document setups and testing outcomes.
  • An AA/AS in a Technical or Engineering field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following are advantageous:

  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience with optical and environmental testing.

Additional Requirements
U.S. citizenship is necessary for position eligibility. Selected candidates will undergo a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility criteria for access to classified information. A successful criminal background check and Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test are also required.
