Job Title: Transit Driver

Ohio University is seeking a skilled Transit Driver to provide transportation services for students, faculty, and staff. The successful candidate will operate university routes, on-demand transportation resources, accessibility transport, special event accommodations, and chartered travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate transportation services safely and efficiently, adhering to university, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Assist with handling of equipment, luggage, materials, and supplies.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspection activities and maintain proper transportation documentation.
  • May assist with routing planning for chartered travel.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
  • Valid Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with passenger and airbrake endorsements.
  • Safe driving record and ability to pass required physicals, background checks, and drug/alcohol screenings.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Vocational or technical training.
  • Associate's degree.
