Job Summary:

Ohio University is seeking a highly skilled Aviation Research Pilot to command one or more AEC-owned-and-operated aircraft for transportation and flight test purposes. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with project engineers and crew members for the planning and implementation of data collection flight missions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with project engineers and crew members for the planning and implementation of data collection flight missions.
  • Coordinate with AEC Chief of Airborne/Mobile Labs regarding the installation and safe operation of data collection equipment installed on the aircraft.
  • Coordinate with FAA NAVAIDS personnel, FAA/military air-traffic/ops personnel, and local law-enforcement authorities associated with the planning of low/high altitude flight profiles.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation or related field by start date.
  • Commercial pilot certificate; Second-class medical certificate; First-Class medical certificate; US Passport.
  • Research Special at-will appointment.

Work Environment:

Varies with research flight schedules.
