Job Summary:
The Plating Supervisor is a key member of our team at The Adkins Group, Inc., responsible for overseeing the Plating Department's operations to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Department Leadership: Direct and coordinate the activities in the Plating Department to ensure efficient operation and meet production goals.
- Scheduling and Planning: Prioritize production schedules, develop schedules, and manpower requirements for the shift.
- Personnel Management: Select and develop personnel to ensure efficient operation of the production function, supervise and coordinate the activities of hourly workers, and assist employees in adhering to set work procedures.
- Quality and Safety: Interpret company policies to employees, enforce safety regulations, and maintain a safe clean working environment.
- Process Improvement: Effectively carry out production operations, meet production schedules, and maintain product quality across an entire shift.
- Training and Development: Provide career counselling and training programs to improve hourly workforce performance and proper advancement of qualified employees.
- Communication: Communicate expected delivery or issues regarding completion of plating operations, coordinate shipping, receiving, packaging, and handling of raw and final connector product processed in Department 32.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the Collective Bargaining Agreement, company rules, regulations, and discipline are administered in a fair and consistent manner.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience in plating electrical connector components.
- Experience: 5-10 years plating experience with electroless nickel on aluminum, nickel on stainless, gold and silver on copper alloys, plating on plastics.
- Skills: Mastery of metal finishing processes, ability to effectively communicate technical requirements, specifications, procedures, and results, working knowledge and application of SPC, ISO, and IPC standards.
- Leadership: Shows leadership to the workforce by decision making, motivational efforts, fairness, and consistency.
- Physical Demands: Frequently required to sit, stand, and walk, occasionally carry, lift, or move up to 40 pounds, capable of working in a chemical environment that contains hazardous material and/or solutions.
