Under general supervision, the role involves providing both clinical and administrative assistance within the Dermatology Department. The individual will prioritize tasks, coordinate unit activities, and contribute to the development of new operational methods and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with patient mobility procedures and support equipment maintenance.
- Provide patient care assistance during appointments.
- Schedule clinic and procedural visits, manage phone inquiries, and maintain physician block times.
- Keep track of statistics, order necessary supplies, and utilize the computer system effectively.
- Maintain a referral database and deliver exceptional customer service to staff, physicians, and patients.
- Offer coverage support as required in other procedural areas.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of third-party payors, including federal, state, and private health plans.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in using multiple computer systems during calls.
- Ability to thrive in an interactive environment with excellent customer service skills, both in-person and over the phone.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly in both verbal and written formats.
- Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with EPIC registration.
- Training or certification in medical terminology.
- Familiarity with Dermatology practices.
BILINGUAL REQUIREMENT
- Proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Flexibility to work various hours and locations based on operational needs.
- Employment is contingent upon a criminal background check and a pre-employment physical examination.
COMPENSATION
- The annual full pay range for this position is $54,664 - $67,944, with hourly equivalent at $32.54. Compensation factors include experience, skills, knowledge, education, and organizational needs.
