SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Provide comprehensive advising, support, and guidance to enrolled students, focusing on retention and successful graduation from their programs. This role operates within a holistic retention framework centered on student relationships. Assess students' academic and personal plans to identify barriers and implement effective interventions.
This is a hybrid role allowing for remote work 1-2 days a week post-training.
The caseload for this position includes students in Nursing, Medical Assistant, and Health Information Technology programs.
Essential Functions
1. Uphold the College's core values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is essential.
2. Perform administrative tasks including responding to inquiries, creating and modifying documents, maintaining filing systems, and coordinating meetings.
3. Complete all required training and maintain necessary skills for the position.
4. Support student success initiatives and may be assigned additional duties as needed.
5. Developmental Advising Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with deans, faculty, and staff to ensure student-centered services and success.
- Identify appropriate interventions for academic and non-academic challenges.
- Assist students in overcoming institutional barriers to success.
- Work with staff to enhance retention through a relationship-focused model.
- Conduct personal coaching sessions and refer students to relevant resources.
- Apply established coaching practices in all student interactions.
- Clarify college policies and procedures to students.
- Discuss connections between academic programs and career opportunities.
- Utilize the CRM system to monitor student success metrics.
- Assess student needs for services and maintain retention rates.
- Analyze data to identify trends and propose solutions.
- Compile reports and maintain accurate student records.
- Evaluate student needs and develop tailored support plans.
- Provide ongoing assistance aligned with identified strategies.
- Monitor academic progress and collaborate with faculty for timely interventions.
- Create resources based on individual student requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in a related field OR
- Relevant education combined with 2 years of appropriate occupational experience OR
- 2 years of related occupational experience.
- 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Familiarity with CRM systems.
- Valid driver's license required for travel to various locations.
This position reports to the Manager of College Advising.
Starting salary based on education and experience: $29.83
