Accounts Payable Specialist
Objective:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing all daily transactions, including interfacing data from our mainframe AS400.
The role involves processing payments timely, ensuring backups correspond to checks produced, and communicating professionally with business partners regarding any discrepancies in the accounts payable flow.
You will match backup and mail checks when produced, research inquiries, and resolve related discrepancies.
This description is not all-encompassing as other ad hoc tasks are expected.
Essential Functions:
- In charge of interfacing the following processes:
- National Account Payment Listings and Independent Shops - Weekly
- Purchasing Queue – Daily
- Settlements – Weekly
- Discount Vendors – Weekly
- HelpDesk including vendor setup and IRS vendor TIN verification
- Other duties assigned to ensure overall departmental efficiency

Hard Skills
- 3-5 years' experience in Accounts Payable in a high-volume environment
- AS400 skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Lotus Notes

Job Type
This is a contract position with a duration of 12 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Des Plaines, Illinois and some days remote.
Work Environment
Hybrid role in Alpharetta, GA (initial in-office training followed by hybrid work). Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

12-18 months
Pay rate:
$21-$23 per hour based on qualifications.
