ABOUT THE AGENCY
The Alameda County Fire Department (ACFD) delivers comprehensive emergency services to various unincorporated regions and several cities within Alameda County. With a network of 28 fire stations and 34 operational units, the ACFD serves a diverse population of approximately 394,000 across an area of 508 square miles. The department's services encompass:

POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision, this role involves executing community outreach and educational initiatives related to fire safety and emergency preparedness. The position also entails providing clerical and administrative support in the creation, maintenance, coordination, and dissemination of public education and community relations materials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EITHER I:
Education:
Possession of an Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
OR II:
Experience:
The equivalent of one year of full-time experience in community outreach and/or administrative support roles.
(Additional experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)
And
License:
Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
Special Requirement:
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

THE EXAMINATION WILL INCLUDE:
- A review of applications to confirm minimum qualifications. Candidates meeting the minimum requirements will proceed to the next examination step.
- A written assessment, contributing 50% to the candidate's final score. High scorers will advance to the oral interview stage.
- An oral interview, also weighted at 50% of the final score, which may include situational exercises.
