As a key member of the East Windsor Public Schools team, we are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Administrative Support Specialist to provide exceptional clerical, secretarial, and administrative assistance to school administrators. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the principal and other school administrators, conveying information regarding school functions and procedures, and supporting the broad array of services provided to students, parents, instructional, and support employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compose documents (e.g., notices, correspondence, bulletins, reports, newsletter, handbooks) for principals or other school administrators to request or provide information about school and work-related matters, activities, events, etc.
  • Maintain the daily/weekly/monthly calendar of the principal for coordinating the scheduling of work-related appointments, activities, meetings, etc.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling school events and activities, and maintain the calendar of school and student events for coordinating and scheduling events such as orientation, open house, field trips, sporting events, assemblies, conferences, etc.
  • Maintain documents, files, and records for providing up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
  • Prepare purchase orders for submitting to the school district's accounting/finance office.
  • Maintain inventories of supplies and materials for ensuring items' availability.
  • Assist visitors to the office, including students, parents, substitutes teachers, and others.
  • Answer telephone calls and provide information and assistance to callers.
  • Distribute incoming mail appropriately; send outgoing mail.
  • Schedule appointments with students, parents, and teaching staff or others as requested.
  • Evaluate situations for taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Register new students, making sure forms are completed, obtaining transcripts and other documentation as needed, and entering data into the computer system regarding enrollment and student records (e.g., transportation, attendance, withdrawals).
  • Respond to inquiries from students, parents, and employees, providing information, facilitating communication among parties, and/or providing direction.
  • Serve as a liaison with outside organizations (e.g., transportation, food service, suppliers) for coordinating the scheduling of deliveries, activities, etc.
  • Support, guide, lead, train, and coordinate the work of school clerical employees for providing assistance with administrative functions.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
