Job Description

The role of a Mechanical Engineer at Sulzer USA Inc. involves coordinating between the machine shop, quotation department, and customers to ensure seamless execution of rotating equipment repairs. This position requires on-site work, field service, and hands-on tasks alongside office responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bridge communication with customers on mechanical repair aspects
  • Participate in inspection activities to develop accurate work scopes
  • Create drawings and document design changes using CAD software
  • Perform precise measurements using micrometers and calipers
  • Conduct electrical tests to determine equipment condition
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Preferred 3 years' experience in rotating equipment repairs or acceptable experience in rotating equipment manufacturing, package design, vibration analysis, or field service
  • Proficient in CAD software (AutoDesk or Solidworks)
  • Knowledge of rolling element bearings, oil seals, vibration spectrums, alignment, dynamic balancing, and metallurgical analysis
  • Familiarity with seal and bearing clearances to shafts is preferred
  • Self-motivated and prepared for on-the-job training
  • Takes responsibility for assigned tasks and completes them in a timely manner
Salary Range:

$65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and location
