Job SummaryWe are seeking a talented and ambitious individual to join our Operations Development Program. This 12-month program is designed to develop the next generation of leaders within our Operations Team. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of our business, develop leadership skills, and work on challenging projects that will prepare you for a dynamic role within our Operations Team.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in a 12-month development program to learn and understand our business, including operations, production, and sales responsibilities in both production and internal and external sales environments.
- May lead and administer special projects in plant operations, supporting the plant manager or key members of the operations leadership team within the region.
- May direct the work of production and distribution personnel, including the daily dispatching of internal and external customer deliveries, while working with customers and production associates to optimize production scheduling for efficiency and quality.
- Work in a team environment to participate in and contribute to optimization efforts in manufacturing, distribution, maintenance, and supply chain, which may include participation in Six Sigma or LEAN Manufacturing projects.
- Adhere to all compliance, quality, and safety requirements of the Company, specifically within the production and distribution environment.
- May support plant management in maintaining adequate inventory of production supplies, escalating equipment and product quality issues, and completing DOT shipping documents.
- Continuously look for ways to reduce plant operations costs through the incorporation of Operational Excellence strategies.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers to meet their needs.
- Ensure compliance with Praxair policy and government regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
- Demonstrated leadership in campus activities, clubs, sports, or community.
- Innovative, flexible, committed, ambitious, and determined.
- Desire to move into a leadership position.
- Positive attitude, willingness to quickly adapt to changing situations, strong communication skills.
- Actively and visibly supports a culture of collaborative safety and health in the workplace.
- Commitment to a high level of operational discipline and compliance to standard work procedures.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
