Job Summary

SimonMed Imaging is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine PET/CT Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine PET/CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic Nuclear Medicine, CT, and PET/CT exams. You will be trained on the latest PET/CT procedures, including Axumin, NETSPOT, Amyloid, and Oncology Imaging. Additionally, you will be trained on the latest CT technology, including Dual Energy and iterative reconstruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient history, explain standard procedures, and address patient concerns.
  • Perform a variety of PET/CT procedures by following and verifying referring provider's orders to provide images, data analysis, and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures.
  • Perform Nuclear Medicine and/or PET/CT with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology.
  • Regulate the equipment used to expose the x-ray film, develop, and document PACS imaging.
  • Operate equipment safely and maintain SimonMed standards while performing all types of procedures.
  • Evaluate images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation.
  • Provide diagnostic aid to physicians by conducting organ or body scans on patients.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures.
  • Administer and record isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol.
  • Observe patient during procedure and report any abnormal activity.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology training program in an AMA-approved school
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred)
  • BLS Certification or 'Hands-On' CPR certification
  • Registration as a Certified Technologist Nuclear Medicine by the State
  • Registration as a Certified Radiologic Technologist by the State
  • NMTCB and/or A.R.R.T.(N) certification
  • Registration as an RT and CT Technologist by the A.R.R.T.
  • 2 years of experience in radiology

Working Conditions
This position may require duties including lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, sitting for prolonged periods of time, with frequent standing and walking. May be exposed to biohazards and chemicals as outlined in the MSDS Manual; and other hazards/unpleasant working conditions.
