Railroad Expert Analyst

Railroad Expert Analysts play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of rail operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing safety reports, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies to enhance rail safety programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze safety reports and data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance rail safety programs
  • Conduct confidential conversations with reporters of safety events to obtain clarifying information
  • Apply experience to examine information to ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of program participants
  • Conduct research and develop reports and other work products to help improve rail industry safety programs
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience with rail operations and functions as a train master, road foreman, yard master, engineer, conductor, yardman, mechanical, dispatch, or engineering
  • Experience with rail safety as an analyst, investigator, or instructor
  • Experience with computers and technology
  • Knowledge of various railroad regulations and operating and safety rules and requirements, including General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR) and Northeast Operating Rules Advisory Committee (NORAC)
  • Knowledge of the Federal Rail Administration (FRA) regulations, safety, and oversight functions
  • HS diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to pay attention to detail while working under strict deadlines
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Logistic, Transportation, or Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD).
