At NYC Health + Hospitals, we are committed to delivering high-quality care services without exception. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the Chairman and Associate Director of the Department of Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Chairman and Associate Director, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate departmental meetings, manage leave of absence, and oversee Continuing Medical Education initiatives.
  • Answer telephones, manage emails, and prepare reports, spreadsheets, and other documents as needed.
  • File and retrieve personnel files, prepare agendas for meetings, and process NYU payroll.
  • Assist in the onboarding of providers and work on special projects, such as Physician Time Studies and mandatory in-services.

To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent and five years of clerical experience, including two years as a stenographic secretary. Alternatively, an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science with three years of clerical experience, one year of which was as a stenographic secretary, is also acceptable.

You will be expected to exercise discretion and diplomacy in all internal and external contact relationships, as well as initiative in preparing routine correspondence and handling administrative details. Confidentiality is essential in maintaining the integrity of executive and corporate matters.
