Job Summary

Clinical Therapist – Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC)

Capital Area Counseling Service is seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist to join our team as a Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) Professional.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mental health support and case management services to youth and treatment parents as part of a collaborative team.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, utilizing evidenced-based interventions and culturally responsive approaches.
  • Facilitate monthly home visits and quarterly team meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with clients and community partners.
  • Complete comprehensive mental health assessments, progress notes, and other necessary documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Coordinate client care with other professionals and community partners, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Respond to crisis situations compassionately and appropriately, providing emergency on-call treatment parent support.
  • Opportunity to facilitate group sessions, promoting healthy relationships and community engagement.

Requirements:

  • Clear screening for substantiated reports of child abuse or neglect.
  • Willingness to develop a thorough understanding of mental health services and adhere to HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality.
  • Meet annual TFC training requirements and maintain calendars and workload effectively.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficient in computer applications and related technology, meeting deadlines and following local, state, and federal laws.
