Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Capital Area Counseling Service. As a key member of our team, you will provide evidence-based therapy to individuals, groups, and families, and work collaboratively with other professionals and community partners to deliver comprehensive mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop, implement, and regularly review treatment plans
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to clients, including individuals, groups, and families
  • Coordinate client care with other professionals and community partners
  • Respond to crisis situations compassionately and appropriately
  • Deliver services in an outpatient office setting or wherever necessary to meet clients' needs
  • Pursue continuing education and opportunities to specialize based on personal interest and agency need
Requirements
  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology and licensed in the State of South Dakota or working toward licensure (supervision for licensure provided on site)
  • When eligible, complete training for and obtain Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) certification
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and agency policies
  • Be self-directive while also seeking clinical supervision when appropriate
  • Maintain calendars and manage workload effectively
  • Demonstrate effective communication and organizational skills
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Proficient in computer applications and related technology
  • Meet deadlines
  • Understand the value of honoring diverse cultures and learning from others
  • Follow all local, state, and federal laws
  • Adhere to professional codes of ethics and agency policies and procedures
