Job Summary

The Journeyman Computer User Support Specialist will be part of our team supporting the US Army Corps of Engineers RITS Program. This role involves providing second-tier support to end-users for PC, server, mainframe applications, and hardware. The successful candidate will handle problems that the first tier help desk support is unable to resolve, interacting with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical, operational, and training support to users of personal computers via telephone or on-site for PC desktop hardware and software packages.
  • Install and test personal computers, printers, and other peripherals, configure operating systems, load shrink-wrap programs, and other application software programs.
  • Troubleshoot printer, computer, and peripheral incidents, perform hardware and software diagnostics, coordinate needed repairs, resolve computer system problems, including coordination between users and components of a local area network, and participate in the evaluation of system configuration and software.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • AA/AS degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined.
  • 4+ years of professional, applicable experience.
  • Current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level I (examples: A+ CE, Network+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security certifications).
  • Experience supporting Windows 10 and MS Office 2013.
  • Experience using Remedy or a similar ticketing system.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience maintaining Xerox, Lexmark, HP, or Ricoh printer devices (i.e., installing maintenance kits).
  • Prior USACE/ACE-IT experience.
  • Experience working in a DoD environment.
  • Experience supporting Office 365.
Working Conditions

  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods of time. Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
