Clinical Behavioral Therapist - Choptank Community Health System, Inc.

Are you passionate about providing comprehensive mental health services that enhance the well-being of individuals and families?

Choptank Community Health System is expanding its integrated behavioral health initiative and seeks a dedicated professional to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of therapists, medical, and dental practitioners, all focused on holistic patient care. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we offer opportunities for qualified clinicians to participate in the National Health Service Corps loan repayment program, with potential awards reaching up to $100,000.

Role Summary: Under the supervision of the Behavioral Health Director and Community-Based Programs Director, the Clinical Behavioral Therapist will deliver direct therapeutic services, including individual, family, and group therapy for patients at the Wellness Center, as well as their families and educational staff as required.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in interdisciplinary team collaboration.
  • Ability to make informed decisions within established policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in English, with Spanish and/or Creole language skills being advantageous.
  • Experience with electronic medical record documentation.
  • Competence in working with diverse populations in a culturally sensitive manner.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with Maryland Mental Health regulations.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices, particularly trauma-informed care.
  • Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Valid Maryland driver's license.
  • Compliance with HIPAA regulations is mandatory.

Educational Background and Experience:

  • Licensed clinician in Maryland (LCSW-C, LCPC, LMCT, LCADC, LMSW, LGPS, LGMFT, LGADC).
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to meet and maintain credentialing standards.
  • Background check and fingerprinting required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in providing therapy to children and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage referrals from medical and dental providers.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary meetings to assess needs and coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate records in the electronic system.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions in collaboration with team members.
  • Complete necessary documentation in a timely manner, including assessments and treatment plans.
  • Exhibit cultural competency in all interactions.
  • Uphold the agency's philosophy and mission.
  • Maintain an active caseload in accordance with program needs.
  • Participate in on-call duties as required.
  • Collaborate with educational institutions and community partners to enhance support for students and families.
  • Attend relevant school meetings.
  • Deliver training on behavioral health topics as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Consistent attendance is essential for this role.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: Negotiable based on experience

Work Environment: Office setting within School-Based Health Centers

Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
