Behavioral Health Specialist

St. John's Episcopal Hospital is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will provide patient care under the direction of the RN, focusing on trauma-informed and patient-centered interactions. This includes individual and group facilitation, as well as patient and visitor searches.
Responsibilities:- Provide patient care under the direction of the RN, utilizing verbal de-escalation techniques with a vulnerable population.
- Collaborate with the unit treatment team to promote a culture of safety and treatment excellence.
- Participate in patient and visitor searches, ensuring a secure environment.
- Associates Degree in Social Services or a health-related area, or 60 college credits.
- At least 6 months of experience in Nursing or Behavioral Health, or Customer Service experience.
- Current certification in Hear Saver/CPR BLS according to the American Heart Association Standards.
- Completion of training in Preventing & Managing Crisis Situations (PMCS).
