Position Overview: As a Sales Associate, you will be tasked with product merchandising, stocking shelves, operating the cash register, and maintaining cleanliness to ensure the store is always presentable. Your role is crucial in enhancing the shopping experience for customers by collaborating effectively with the ALDI team and delivering outstanding customer service.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Average Weekly Hours: 32-40 hours

Starting Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour

Training Information: This position will involve training at a nearby location until the new store is operational.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions and maintain cleanliness throughout the store.
  • Stock shelves and organize merchandise displays in an orderly fashion.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with their needs.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively with store management.
  • Provide management with feedback regarding products, inventory discrepancies, scanning errors, and other operational issues.
  • Participate in inventory counts and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Adhere to cash handling policies to minimize losses.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stock merchandise from receiving areas to shelves, including lifting products weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk throughout the store.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Proficient in operating a cash register accurately and efficiently.
  • Capable of safely using equipment such as electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
  • Ability to perform general cleaning tasks to meet company standards.
  • Strong understanding of company policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Meet any local and state requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a retail setting is preferred.
  • A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge.
