Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at St. Joseph's Physicians. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and maintain the mission of St. Joseph's Physicians, delivering quality, accessible healthcare with compassion and service excellence.
- Perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician or other healthcare provider.
- Organize and maintain patient medical records and equipment.
- Accurately and legibly document information within patient medical records.
- Conduct pre-visit planning, review patient charts, and anticipate necessary services.
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment, taking vital signs and recording medical history.
- Provide timely communication with patients, make inquiries, and execute follow-up tasks.
- Assist with scheduling tests and treatment, pre-certify patients for hospital care, and process referrals.
- Assist providers and nurses with medical and office procedures, including blood draws and EKGs.
- Follow provider orders to schedule referrals, diagnostic tests, and appointments.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and neat environment.
- Responsible for successful and timely completion of work.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program.
- Holds National Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA).
- Proficient in obtaining manual vital signs.
- Experience using an electronic health record system.
- Commitment to confidentiality and respect.
- Ability to obtain and record patient data, including prior health history, family history, allergies, current medications, and current complaints.
Category I - Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.
Pay Range: $26.85 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education.
Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
