Key Responsibilities- Implement and maintain the mission of St. Joseph's Physicians, delivering quality, accessible healthcare with compassion and service excellence.
- Perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician or other healthcare provider.
- Organize and maintain patient medical records and equipment.
- Accurately and legibly document information within patient medical records.
- Conduct pre-visit planning, reviewing and updating patient charts, and anticipating necessary services.
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment, escorting them to the exam room and interviewing them to record medical history and vital signs.
- Provide timely communication with patients, make inquiries, and execute follow-up tasks to integrate information into care plans.
- Assist with scheduling tests and treatment, pre-certifying patients for hospital care and/or procedures, and processing referrals to other providers.
- Follow provider orders to schedule referrals, diagnostic tests, lab tests, appointments, etc.
- Prepare, clean, and maintain exam rooms, treatment rooms, clinical supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and neat environment.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program.
- Holds National Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA).
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- At least 10 months' work and/or clinical training experience in the Medical Assistant field.
- Proficient in obtaining manual vital signs.
- Experience using an electronic health record system.
- Commitment to confidentiality and respect.
Category I - Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.
Pay Range: $26.85 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education.
Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
