Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Coordinator to join our team at Finger Lakes Health. As a key member of our outpatient staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets visitors and customers, and serves as a telephone operator for the department
  • Schedules appointments for the doctor and primary therapist as necessary
  • Performs office work, including taking and distributing messages, filing, copying, faxing, and typing
  • Assists with day treatment attendance, Medicaid prior approvals, and maintenance of statistical information for the department
  • Assists with registration of clients and collections of copays
Requirements
  • High school education; associate's degree in secretarial science preferred
  • Experience in a medical field; office management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills
  • Computer literacy; experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical records preferred
