SUMMARY OBJECTIVE:
To facilitate the origination of residential mortgage and home equity loans in alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of mortgage-related policies, procedures, and regulations, as well as current trends and developments in the real estate sector.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Initiate, develop, and finalize residential mortgage and home equity loan applications at times and locations that are convenient for the borrower.

Ensure timely follow-up on all conditions to effectively meet contractual deadlines and lock expiration dates. Keep borrowers and all relevant parties informed about the status and progress of the loan.

Establish diverse sources of referrals, including but not limited to real estate agents, builders, attorneys, settlement companies, accountants, and other influential contacts.

Cultivate and sustain relationships with AmeriServ personnel across various divisions (Retail, Commercial, Trust, etc.).

Contribute to the execution of the Residential Mortgage Departmental Plan by assisting in achieving or surpassing all individual, departmental, and corporate production and budget targets.

Support the ownership interests of Bankers Settlement of Southwest PA, along with referrals to other divisions within AmeriServ.

Stay informed about current industry trends and developments in the real estate market, as well as mortgage-related policies, procedures, and regulations.

Actively engage in civic, business, and community-related activities that provide opportunities for business development.
Proactively seek opportunities that support the Bank in fulfilling its CRA responsibilities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position does not involve supervision of employees.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This role operates within a professional office setting. This position routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


The employee is frequently required to: Type or otherwise work with fingers; Communicate verbally, expressing or exchanging ideas through spoken words.

These activities require conveying detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers or clients accurately, clearly, or quickly.

Hearing – perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and discern sounds.
Operation of a motor vehicle and adaptability to changing environmental weather conditions.
Sedentary work may involve occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds and/or moving up to 25 pounds. This work typically involves sitting most of the time, with some walking and standing.
Specific vision abilities required for this role include: viewing a computer monitor and extensive reading.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:


A minimum of a high school diploma with relevant experience in mortgage lending, ideally with at least three (3) years of combined experience in residential mortgage loan origination, loan processing, underwriting, secondary marketing, real estate sales, leasing, commercial lending, or consumer lending is preferred.

Strong business development skills are essential.
