POSITION SUMMARY

This role reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager and is primarily focused on driving new business initiatives and overseeing sales operations within designated regions, specifically targeting New England, Metro NY, and the Mid Atlantic. The objective is to enhance sales performance and execute strategic corporate objectives.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities encompass the following:

Sales

  • Lead new business initiatives within the assigned geographic area.
  • Maintain consistent and ongoing communication with the Regional Sales Managers.
  • Develop a professional network to uncover new business opportunities.
  • Achieve established targets, including sales goals, customer growth, pipeline development, and customer engagement within the designated territory.
  • Drive revenue growth by exceeding year-over-year financial targets.
  • Implement direct selling strategies on key opportunities, addressing pricing, service, investment, risk, scheduling, and technical promotion to secure successful project wins.
  • Leverage market and competitor insights to craft compelling selling propositions and unique differentiators.
  • Collaborate with global engineering and sales teams to create proposals and present products that align with customer needs.
  • Research and share market data with segment teams to identify new product development prospects.
  • Work in tandem with customer support roles to enhance service delivery to clients.
  • Design and deliver tailored product presentations.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers among customers.
  • Assist with product exhibitions at relevant industry events.
  • Timely preparation and submission of sales activity reports, including monthly updates and sales forecasts.
  • Participate in sales meetings to provide updates on market trends, account status, and project developments.
  • Manage distributor registration programs and quote activities within the assigned region.
  • Ensure timely processing of Design Registrations and resolve any conflicts that arise.
  • Foster strong relationships with account managers at distribution branches.
  • Accountable for the success of local distribution, focusing on growth in point-of-sale, new design registrations, and customer engagement.
  • Maintain a visible presence at branch locations to position products as the preferred choice.
  • Conduct regular opportunity reviews with Distributor Account Managers to drive accountability and engage in high-revenue potential opportunities.
  • Collaborate with channel sales teams to identify and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Ensure all sales opportunities are accurately recorded and maintained.
Product Development

  • Identify and assess potential product lines in collaboration with key accounts and prospective customers.
  • Execute New Product Introduction (NPI) plans in coordination with Marketing, including target account identification, promotional schedules, sample distribution, and pricing strategies.
  • Oversee the design process to meet customer commitment targets.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends to anticipate customer needs and position the company as a leader in the connector market.
  • Engage with industry groups and standards committees as necessary.
Leadership and Teamwork

  • Consistently embody the company's philosophy of innovation and leadership, striving for differentiation and consumer approval.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Receivable to ensure timely account setups for payments.
  • Build strong relationships with personnel in Japan and assist with customer visits by engineers and other team members.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment within support groups.
Administration

  • Complete tasks in accordance with ISO requirements, where applicable.
  • Prepare and submit timely sales activity reports, including a rolling 12-month sales forecast, Manager's report, Regional Program Updates, and other relevant documentation.
  • Ensure all required reports and presentations are completed punctually.
Requirements:

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a Technical field is required.
  • A minimum of five years of sales experience is essential.
  • Five years of sales experience in the electronic component industry is required; experience in interconnect is advantageous.
  • Technical knowledge is necessary to fully understand customer requirements and provide suitable product solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • Excellent project management skills are required.
  • Above-average organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both oral and written) to effectively engage with internal and external customers across diverse cultures.
  • Strong presentation skills, including proficiency in creating PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to address issues promptly and align with customer needs.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and high energy levels.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time to distributor branches and various customer R&D locations.
  • Existing relationships with distributors are a plus.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS

Must be capable of navigating the assigned territory, which may involve long-distance travel.
