Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to utilize advanced sequencing technologies to explore the function of ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complexes and histone-modifying enzymes in facilitating DNA excision repair in both yeast and human cells. The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct data analysis employing statistical software and bioinformatics tools.
  • Present research findings through academic posters, oral presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Design, execute, and refine laboratory experiments.
  • Ensure quality control and propose enhancements in methodologies and interpretations.
  • Supervise undergraduate and/or graduate students in laboratory settings.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Genetics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in gene cloning, PCR, and various molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience in data analysis and bioinformatics.
  • Familiarity with DNA, RNA, and protein extraction, as well as qRT-PCR.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and EndNote.
  • Adept problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn new experimental techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of microbiological techniques.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of R software and single-cell RNA sequencing is advantageous.
  • Experience in next-generation sequencing data analysis and programming is preferred.
  • Familiarity with mammalian cell culture is beneficial.
  • Experience in preparing next-generation sequencing libraries is a plus.
  • Background in DNA repair and/or chromatin research is preferred.

Additional Information:

Area of Focus: Molecular Biosciences

Annual Salary: $55,000 - $62,000, commensurate with experience.
