Research Intern Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Intern to join our team at the Hui Zhang Laboratory in the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Washington State University.

Job Summary:

The Research Intern will support our mission to improve health in our community through excellence in collaborative research, scholarship, and clinical education. The successful candidate will assist in complex laboratory/scientific experiments in cancer immunotherapy and analysis of immune functions in mouse models.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform investigative procedures and modify procedures to accomplish research goals
  • Collect, process, and analyze data
  • Run research protocols and assist in preparing manuscripts for journals or presentations for conferences
  • Work under the guidance of the Principal Investigator (PI) and assist in laboratory/scientific experiments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent related field experience
  • Experimental and analytical skills; understanding and knowledge of research theory
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with common laboratory procedures, such as preparation and standardization of solutions and constructing recombinant plasmids
  • Experience with animal handling and cell culture
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
