Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at WellHaven Pet Health. As a key member of our veterinary hospital, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing exceptional patient care and client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures, including surgery, dentistry, and laboratory procedures.
  • Provide exceptional client service, including educating clients on pet care and wellness plans.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day efficiency and smooth operation of the hospital, including managing hospital supplies and maintaining accurate medical charting.
  • Assume responsibility for select reception duties, such as answering phone calls and scheduling appointments.
  • Act as an advocate for the overall success and performance of the hospital.
Customer Service Delivery
  • Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service to clients and their pets.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, veterinarians, and veterinary technicians to ensure seamless care and service.
  • Adapt to individual client needs and preferences to provide personalized care and service.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 6+ months of experience in the veterinary industry.
  • Completion of an NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Work in a fast-paced hospital environment with limited space, smells from pet waste, and noise.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.
  • Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch, biological hazards, anesthesia medications, and radiation.
