Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures, including surgery, dentistry, and laboratory procedures.
- Provide exceptional client service, including educating clients on pet care and wellness plans.
- Contribute to the day-to-day efficiency and smooth operation of the hospital, including managing hospital supplies and maintaining accurate medical charting.
- Assume responsibility for select reception duties, such as answering phone calls and scheduling appointments.
- Act as an advocate for the overall success and performance of the hospital.
- Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service to clients and their pets.
- Effectively communicate with clients, veterinarians, and veterinary technicians to ensure seamless care and service.
- Adapt to individual client needs and preferences to provide personalized care and service.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 6+ months of experience in the veterinary industry.
- Completion of an NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Work in a fast-paced hospital environment with limited space, smells from pet waste, and noise.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.
- Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch, biological hazards, anesthesia medications, and radiation.
