Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team at the University of St. Francis. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our campus community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to ensure security and deter potential security breaches
  • Provide escort services for visitors, students, staff, and faculty
  • Prepare written and computerized reports of daily activity and incidents
  • Perform periodic checks of emergency call boxes and streetlights
  • Provide visible patrol and examine doors, windows, and gates for security
  • Drive university vehicles to transport individuals and provide safe transportation
  • Provide public assistance, including lockout services and information
Requirements
  • 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Illinois driver's license
  • Clear background check
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions
  • Ability to understand and adhere to safety and security rules and regulations
Preferred Requirements
  • Availability to work a varied schedule, including weekends
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to walk, sit, or stand for extended periods, run when necessary, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds. The noise level in the work environment may be loud at times.
