Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine and confirm physician medication orders, ensuring precision in dosing, identifying potential interactions, compatibility, and overall suitability of therapy.
  • Offer current drug information to healthcare staff and patients, while engaging in the oversight of distribution, inventory management, procurement, and accountability of controlled substances.
  • Prepare and/or dispense medications, intravenous solutions, and chemotherapy agents in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Supervise drug therapy for contraindications, incompatibilities, allergies, dosing mistakes, adverse reactions, and overall suitability of treatment.
  • Assess patients' home medication lists for accuracy and relevance, intervening when necessary.
Qualifications:

Essential Skills:
  • A degree in Pharmacy from an institution accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education is required.
  • At least one (1) year of prior pharmacy experience is preferred.
  • A valid New Hampshire license to practice Pharmacy is mandatory.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain positive working relationships within the department and with other hospital departments, patients, employees, regulatory bodies, vendors, and the public.
  • Capability to plan and execute a diverse range of tasks requiring general knowledge of applicable policies and procedures. This role necessitates significant judgment to work autonomously towards general outcomes, devising methods, modifying or adapting standard procedures to accommodate varying conditions, and making decisions based on established precedents and policies.
