Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Admissions Coordinator to join our team at the Brattleboro Retreat. As a key member of our Admissions department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patients through our system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with physicians to review referrals and determine the most appropriate placement for acute patient admissions.
  • Participate in daily safety huddles and census, acuity, and staffing plans with nurse managers and physician leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with referral agencies, outside nurse partners, and internal clinical stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate and complete medication history, compliance, and reconciliation processes in partnership with on-call physicians.
  • Provide comprehensive handoffs to Clinical Managers and House Supervisors.
  • Coordinate patient throughput in the Admissions department and delegate tasks to LNA, MHW, and LAB staff as needed.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in behavioral health.
  • 2 years of bed placement/admission experience.
  • COVID vaccination and booster.
Certifications and Licenses
  • BLS (AHA) certification.
  • State license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Vermont.
Work Schedule

Every other weekend and possible on-call requirements.
