At Parkland Health and Hospital System, we are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists and pharmacy staff in preparing medication orders, tracking inventory, and maintaining records.
Responsibilities- Prepare and distribute medication orders, prescriptions, and sterile products under pharmacist supervision.
- Operate an electronic cash register, enter correct charges, collect accurate amounts of money, and provide correct change to customers.
- Prepare for each shift by obtaining and inserting the correct amount of cash in the cash register and ensuring the workstation is ready to service customers.
- Deliver remaining cash receipts and completed/approved reports to the manager after each shift, following established policies and procedures.
- Assist in the maintenance of various inventory records, invoices, and prescription hardcopies.
- Assist in the maintenance of assigned areas, including cleanliness, drug and supply inventory, equipment, and simple repair.
- Act as a resource person for non-judgmental pharmacy questions to medical staff, patients, and visitors.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the Pharmacy area.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in pharmacy technician roles, such as inpatient pharmacy, IV/Infusion pharmacy, retail pharmacy, mail order pharmacy, and/or pharmacy repackaging.
- Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification by exam from the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCE) or the National Healthcare Association (ExCPT).
- Current registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
