Job Overview

Position Summary

The Senior Reliability Engineer plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance and dependability of essential assets throughout the organization. This position involves the development and application of reliability engineering techniques to assess and improve the design and functionality of various components, equipment, and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of manufacturing and utility process equipment to formulate and execute reliability strategies that minimize failures and their impacts in a cost-effective manner.
  • Lead or assist in asset criticality assessments and the formulation of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to support reliability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with planners and parts-room personnel to ensure that job plans and spare parts strategies align with reliability objectives to mitigate risks.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and operational performance.
  • Facilitate or support Root Cause Analyses and failure investigations related to deviations or safety incidents as necessary.
  • Oversee or assist in the execution of projects aimed at optimizing equipment performance and reliability across various sites, working with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation.
  • Engage with project teams and responsible engineers to set reliability targets, maintainability standards, and total cost of ownership, utilizing appropriate reliability tools early in the lifecycle of new equipment.
  • Leverage Maintenance and Reliability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for ongoing improvement.
  • Collaborate across multiple site functions to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
  • Work with other sites and global functions to establish corporate standards and best practices in Reliability Engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with 4-6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in leading Root Cause Failure Analyses, Criticality Assessments, and FMEAs.
  • Familiarity with reliability modeling, reliability growth analysis, and allocation.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Mini-Tab, JMP, or other statistical analysis tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle moderately complex assignments, requiring sound judgment in problem resolution and routine recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and European Medicines Agency (EMEA) regulations.
  • Certification as a Reliability Engineer or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional.
