Position Overview:


The Purchasing Agent is accountable for overseeing all procurement functions within the Center, ensuring that requests for products and services from staff are addressed promptly and effectively. All procurement activities must adhere to the policies and regulations set forth by both the Company and Government.



Leadership and Oversight:


This role includes the supervision and management of the Purchasing Clerk.

  • Upholds all ethical standards and protocols, ensuring the integrity of data.
  • Directs the procurement operations of the Center, focusing on strategic planning, budget management, and staff development.
  • Acquires goods and services in line with the Company’s purchasing guidelines.
  • Evaluates vendors based on competitive pricing, service quality, and compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations.
  • May provide direct oversight to purchasing personnel.
  • Assists the Finance and Administration Director in preparing and managing budgets.
  • Drafts purchase orders, contracts, and agreements for services, equipment, and projects, while maintaining accurate records.
  • Develops and sustains a list of qualified vendors, including small, large, Veteran, Minority, and Female-owned businesses.
  • Utilizes federal supply schedules as necessary.
  • Monitors vendor compliance with quality standards and delivery timelines, ensuring performance evaluations are conducted.
  • Collaborates with the Finance department to verify pricing details.
  • Manages the Center’s subcontract program to meet established goals.
  • Oversees construction and maintenance contracts in accordance with Federal and Company regulations.
  • Adheres to all contractual obligations and Company procedures related to procurement.
  • Participates in regular meetings with Finance, Property, and Purchasing teams to resolve vendor-related issues efficiently.
  • Maintains essential logs and databases, preparing and submitting required reports.
  • Leads the bidding process, including RFPs, RFQs, and other procurement methods.
  • Provides exceptional customer service and communication, ensuring timely updates on purchase requests.
  • Accepts guidance from the Center Director and other management personnel, including temporary assignments in different departments.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.


Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM



Compensation and Benefits:
  • Annual salary starting at $40,000 - negotiable based on qualifications and experience

Qualifications



Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • An Associate of Arts Degree from an accredited institution is mandatory.
  • A minimum of three to five years of experience in contract oversight and familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential.
  • Physical capabilities include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and assess loads to request assistance when necessary.
