Apple Maps is in search of a dedicated, detail-oriented, and proactive release manager to assist in planning, monitoring, communicating, and managing risks associated with our software releases and web deployments.

The future of the Maps experience is integrated across all Apple operating systems (iOS, CarPlay, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS) and online, encompassing multiple applications: Maps, Find My, and Messages.


Role Responsibilities:
Release managers serve as the connective tissue among various project teams, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each team's deliverables and how they interrelate within each release.

In this capacity, you will play a vital role in the team's success, collaborating cross-functionally with other program managers, engineers, designers, and product managers to execute the product roadmap.

The ideal candidate is eager to tackle significant challenges and values precision in every detail. This role demands continuous problem-solving, quick learning, and a creative mindset. Additionally, it requires meticulous attention to detail, patience, and self-awareness, as you will engage with diverse engineering teams.

Key Duties Include:

  • Prioritizing the release timeline and tracking the progress of releases.
  • Analyzing and overseeing releases to provide timely and actionable insights to management and Maps leadership.
  • Coordinating scheduled and urgent deployments with Engineering, QA, and Build/Release teams.
  • Reviewing, updating, and establishing release processes.


Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years of Program Management experience in Software Development, with a proven track record in coordinating complex application development cycles and schedules.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, particularly in ambiguous situations.
A self-starter who is highly organized and has demonstrated success in building relationships.
Proven ability to monitor projects against established plans and adapt to changes as necessary.
Comprehension of rapid development cycles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to distill relevant information for diverse audiences.
Capability to translate technical requirements into accessible language.
Experience in identifying risks, formulating mitigation strategies, and facilitating conflict resolution.
Familiarity with bug management systems.
Prior experience supporting a complete development lifecycle for iOS/OS/Web or other Apple ecosystems.

Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is one component of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a specified range.

This structure allows for growth as you develop within your role.

The base pay range for this position is between $165,500 and $293,800, with your base pay contingent on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees are also eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
