Position Title: EHSQ Specialist

Location: Baltimore, MD Area

Are you dedicated to fostering a safe and environmentally sustainable workplace? We are in search of an EHSQ Specialist to support our operations and drive our Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) objectives. This position plays a vital role in upholding safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance, ensuring a secure environment for employees and the surrounding community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure adherence to regulations by developing comprehensive procedures, conducting thorough audits, and managing documentation. Act as the primary contact for local regulatory bodies regarding site safety and environmental compliance, ensuring timely completion of all necessary reporting.
  • Deliver training programs for employees on health, safety, and environmental matters, while maintaining precise training records. Address safety issues promptly and assess new products, materials, and processes for effective hazard communication and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate incident investigations, follow up on action plans to prevent future occurrences, and manage document control in accordance with ISO and corporate standards using SharePoint. Stay updated with corporate EHSQ standards, implementing enhancements and training staff on any changes.
  • Oversee the emergency response program and medical monitoring initiatives in alignment with corporate guidelines and the site's Integrated Contingency Plan. Develop and manage the execution of site Industrial Hygiene protocols, including the personal protective equipment program.
  • Lead initiatives for waste minimization and Behavioral Safety Programs, emphasizing sustainable practices and positive reinforcement. Collaborate with production teams to improve health, safety, environmental, and quality processes, and engage in hands-on laboratory work as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Health & Safety Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in a chemical or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and relevant state regulations is advantageous.
  • Capability to perform laboratory bench work.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience in drafting and reviewing procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SAP.
