Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our team at University Hospital, Newark NJ. The successful candidate will provide exceptional support to our pediatric clinic, ensuring seamless daily operations and exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the pediatric clinic, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient referrals.
  • Respond to requests and inquiries from hospitals, patients, and referring physician offices in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with billing and record retention activities, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure smooth clinic operations and high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • Two years of progressively responsible clerical experience, including receptionist and scheduling duties.
  • Experience in a medical office setting, including some billing, preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office and electronic registration and medical record systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to multitask.
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Portuguese, or French) preferred.
