Job Description

Job Title: Project Development Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Development Engineer to join our team at New Millennium. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-design analysis on all new submittals to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Review structural plans for locations, loads, and requirements pertinent to shear wall and uplift tie-down systems.
  • Interpret takeoffs, quotes, and order notes for the design team to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
  • Set up engineering programs for CAD designers to facilitate efficient design and development.
  • Familiarize yourself with code requirements and structural analysis applicable to shear wall overturning and roof uplift resistance.
  • Provide support to designers and submittal checkers to ensure high-quality project deliverables.
  • Apply engineering concepts to improve system design and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Offer education and design support to the design and project management team.

Qualifications:

  • Possess EIT (FE) Certification.
  • Hold a BSCE in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or be able to obtain a PE License in the future.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Customer service-oriented, accountable, and proactive.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior CLP or NMBS knowledge and experience.
  • BSCE in Civil Engineering and (3-4) years of prior structural engineering experience.
  • Experience with Bluebeam and VBA.
