Job Summary:

As a Certified Surgical Assistant at Catholic Health Initiatives, you will play a vital role in the operating room, assisting physicians in surgery and performing specific tasks under their supervision. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated healthcare professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with patient positioning, application of surgical antiseptic solution, and draping in a standardized sterile fashion.

• Open and close surgical sites, harvest grafts, assist with hemostasis, dissect and remove tissue, insert devices, alter tissue, and perform other procedures as requested by the physician.

• Provide assistance in securing drainage systems to tissue and applying appropriate wound dressing.

• Perform specific significant tasks, including applying and removing splints/casts, placing foley catheters, and administering local anesthesia, under professional supervision.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.

• Certified Surgical Technologist, Certification in Surgical Assisting, State Licensure, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

• One year of surgical technician experience required; one year of surgical assisting experience preferred.
